chairs
i realised in 2001 that i had unintentionally collected a large number of photos specifically of chairs. without any need to plan or construct these photos, i would quite often come across an abandoned chair in the most unusual of locations and quickly realised they served as a good metaphor for issues ranging from consumer consumption to our ever increasing casual relationship towards the personal objects that inhabit our daily lives.

these photos, part of a greater ongoing project of street observations, were taken between 2000 and 2010 in various countries across central and eastern europe.
